Bodhi Health Group Steps up Cooperation with World Association of Chinese Doctors and Capital Medical University to Build a Platform for Global Medical Talents
The 2017 Annual Conference of the World Association of Chinese Doctors (WACD) and the Summit Forum of Smart Medical Care Heritage and Development was held in Qingdao on September 20-21, 2017. Nearly 1,000 top hospital presidents, academicians, senior physicians from various countries and regions, along with medical professionals from different levels across China have witnessed the establishment of a platform for global medical talents. In order to advance the medical personnel supply-side reform of our country, give full play to the value of doctors at all levels, enable overseas Chinese physicians to assimilate into China and let Chinese physicians to go out towards the world, the Bodhi Health Group joined hands with the World Association of Chinese Doctors to launch the “Chinese Physician Intelligence Tank Thousand Talents Program” (hereinafter referred to as Thousand Talents Program) and reached cooperation with the Capital Medical University on medical talent training. In the future, up to 400,000 top overseas Chinese physicians and millions of Chinese medical professionals in China are expected to use this platform to promote world inter-connectivity and constructing health wellbeing.
To Build a Platform to Boost China’s Medical Talent Supply-side Reform
At present, China has 3.19 million practicing doctors and assistant physicians, of which only 51% have a bachelor's degree or above, and most of them have not received standardized residency training, resulting in a huge difference among their clinical levels. In the structure of the talent pool, general practitioners only account for 6.6% of the total number of doctors in our country, far below the 30-40% reported in European and American developed countries. Currently, China faces a sharp shortage of medical talents, and medical institutions in general are in dire need of medical technological professionals and management personnel and a reasonable talent echelon, which has seriously constrained the development of medical and health care services and improvement of the medical system.
“Medical talent training is a grave problem facing our country's medical system at present. For China, third-party institutions that specialize in exporting medical experience have yet to be developed, but medical personnel training is indispensable for such a huge country. In addition, doctors' awareness of self-worth is still in its infancy but has been on gradual increase along with medical market changes. However, at present, there are no effective mechanisms or platforms that can maximize the value of doctors in China,” said Fu Gang, director of the World Association of Chinese Doctors and Chairman of the Board of the Bodhi Health Group, “Talents are at the core of the medical supply-side reform. The cultivation and use of talents, the improvement of their productivity and release of their production efficiency all matter a lot. The core strategy of Bodhi Health Group lies in the strategy of "medical talents". In the future, we will make long-term cooperation with the world's top medical platforms, such as the World Association of Chinese Doctors and the Capital Medical University, to bring together all kinds of high-quality resources and bring in excellent overseas doctors while training medical professionals of all levels in China, thereby providing better medical services to ordinary Chinese people."
Zhang Yanling, president of the World Association of Chinese Doctors and president of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, said that the World Association of Chinese Doctors will set up an international platform to serve Chinese doctors worldwide. According to incomplete statistics, there are nearly a million Chinese people engaged in the fields of medical care, medicine, nursing, and medical technology in the world. Among them, nearly 400,000 are practicing as physicians or have obtained local physician licenses. Excellent representatives of the Chinese people as they are, they also serve as important messengers for promoting medical exchange between China and the rest of the world, and have driven global medical development and contributed significantly to world health and well-being.

We hope more Chinese doctors will join the think tank or external brain for national health care reforms, actively participate in affairs concerning relevant state policies, academic programs, education and training, and science teaching and research, and grow into experts and consultants urgently needed by the country."
Fu Gang said, "These overseas Chinese doctors are among the forefront of international medical cause. We hope that Bodhi Health Group’s efforts to integrate domestic resources such as hospitals and information technologies will make it easier for them to return home for lecturing and practicing and at the same time shorten the geographical distance between them and doctors in China and create opportunities for communication and exchange." In order to advance China's health cause and help Chinese doctors worldwide play a bigger role in China, Bodhi Health Group will donate five million RMB every year to the World Association of Chinese Doctors, amounting a total of 50 million RMB in 10 years. For overseas experts in a certain medical field, Bodhi Health Group will also provide personalized multi-level services including advice on and platform providing for lecturing and practicing after returning to China.

Bodhi Health Group Joins Hands with Capital Medical University to Improve Training System for Medical Professionals
In order to promote the medical personnel supply-side reform in our country and increase education level of them after graduation, Bodhi Health Group has also established strategic cooperation with the Capital Medical University on medical talent training, jointly setting up a platform for education, training of and exchange among medical talents with a complete training system for grassroots medical professionals.
As a private enterprise strongly supported by Qingdao City, Bodhi Health Group possesses advanced hospital management concepts, rich experience in hospital management and rich doctor resources, it tries to improve hospital management efficiency and bring out the value of doctors through mandated hospitals and contract doctors. The Capital Medical University is a key institution of higher education in Beijing, which has more than 20 clinical medical schools and affiliated hospitals, with strong academic development and scientific research capabilities.
The Capital Medical University will give full play to its advantages in medical education and coordinate its clinical medical schools and teaching hospitals to provide education and training for grass-roots medical teams contracted by Bodhi Health Group, including standardized training of residency doctors, training of specialized medical technicians and training of medical and nursing personnel. Bodhi Health Group will rely on its invested mandated medical institutions to select qualified medical staff to attend systematic medical staff trainings in the Capital Medical University in the future and preferentially offer more job opportunities and practicing platforms to medical talents and graduates, thus releasing doctors’ self-worth.
Fu Gang believes that doctors play a core role in the entire health industry and medical cause and the best of doctors hold the key to the future. As the medical industry keeps growing, the demand for grassroots medical staff is also increasing and the ordinary people also have higher requirements for them. Grassroots medical staff are facing unprecedented challenges so that a strong system is required to ensure such medical staff are of high quality.

Bodhi Health Group Presents Letter of Appointment to Six World’s Top Academicians
Bodhi Health Group presented official letter of appointment to six academicians on September 21, 2017. They are Lang Jinghe, Zhang Boli, Zhan Qimin, Chen Xiangmei, Fan Daiming and He Jie. These international experts are expected to work within Bodhi Health Group’s medical service system, recommend young medical staff and support them to grow in the fastest way possible on the global platform of medical talents. The joining of these academicians, bringing with them world-leading medical concepts and technologies, is expected to significantly raise the service level of the medical teams of various disciplines in China. Take Zhan Qimin, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, for example, he will bring cutting-edge scientific concepts on medical science and technology innovation to China's medical and health undertakings on a number of subjects such as life science technology, stem cell and regenerative medicine, vaccines and antibodies, biological treatment and individualized diagnosis and treatment technology, and intelligent medicine, etc.
Zhan said that medical practice has shown that the ultimate control of any major infectious disease and the clinical breakthrough in chronic non-communicable diseases almost always rely on the development of medical science and technology. According to him, medical science and technology innovation plays a key role in improving human disease prevention and control level and the ability to respond to public health emergencies. The application of any new technology, equipment, or drug in disease prevention and clinical diagnosis and treatment is resulted from medical science and technology development, he added.
According to Fu Gang, talents constitute the major part of a hospital’s medical services, teaching activities and scientific research projects. The medical technological level and management level of a hospital largely depends on the level and quality of its talents. The introduction or training of technological personnel of a higher level can be expected to give rise to a pillar technological team, which will lead a department to blaze trails in a new academia field or to develop new technologies or surgeries on special diseases, thus driving the development of the hospital and relevant technologies.
